As we began the year your KeepItQuerque Board of Directors was strong and passionate - and perfectly even.
With a returning President in Mark Santiago
(Axiom CPA),
as well as a second term Treasurer in Gil Chavez
(Roger Cox Realty)
we had a good start.
We are very fortunate to have long-time member and past Board Member Linda Dodson
(Girl Fridays) as our Secretary.
And Maxine Chavez of
ABQ Drug Testing is in here second term -

with her willing support and frequent Task Committee participation we are strong.
Rounding that out were new Board members,
C.G. Printers' Steve Garcia,
ABQ Sol Football Club's Larry Espinosa and we've got a nice representation of Local Businesses.
BUT, we had six members and that's not good when you need to break a tie vote. According to the KeepItQuerque By-laws it is the duty of the board to identify a new member when their is an even number, so we kept our eyes and ears open.
We met with Margeaux Anderson, the Strategic Project Manager at Desert Paper. Ella Leeper of Desert Paper asked us to work with Margeaux to set up the
Desert Paper KeepItQuerque Directory page.
In the course of our conversation Margeaux demonstrated a passion for our city and an understanding of the challenges we face, particularly from the perspective of our local economy. Plus, she was looking for a way to serve her community and we recruited her as quickly as the process allowed.
Margeaux grew up in Albuquerque and is representative of the vibrant, forward-thinking young people
the future of Albuquerque and New Mexico belongs to.
Margeaux has already offered great ideas to KeepItQuerque and her energy in helping us move forward is very helpful.
We're almost ready to send out nominations for the next Board of Directors and you can bet Margeaux will be nominated.
Who do you want to see serving on your KeepItQuerque Board of Directors? Keep YOUR eyes and ears out as we approach election time in September.
