GBA Monthy Calendar of Events

Greetings

Hello fellow GBA members and friends,
I am happy to be writing to you as the newly elected President of the Granger Business Association. This month was the end of term for the officers that have served the GBA over the last two years. To our benefit, many GBA Board members are staying on for another round in their current positions, and a few dedicated individuals have joined the board by offering their time and energy to this worthwhile cause. I am pleased to have the support of these committed individuals.
Many thanks must be given to Todd Zaseck for his years of service to GBA as our board president. It simply can’t be said enough…Thank you! Under Todd’s leadership the GBA has experienced unprecedented growth, improved membership benefits and has thrived through some tough times. As GBA president I hope to build upon the gains made by my predecessors. To achieve this goal I intend to see that our efforts focus on the following areas…

  • Membership growth and retention: The best way to grow participation in the GBA is to add value to your membership. Therefore, we will continue with existing networking and education programs, provide opportunities for members to learn about and take advantage of the great marketing and sales features found in our new website/membership management system, foster an environment that encourages each and every member to act as an advocate for the GBA and promote membership campaigns via contests and incentives.
  • Promote a positive business environment in Granger: In order to elevate the voice of Granger businesses within Michiana we will extend invitations for partnership to neighboring business organizations and government entities. We will continue to leverage our ability to communicate with you, our members, to help keep you informed about issues affecting Granger. We will endeavor to gauge the collective sentiment of our membership on pertinent business matters and share this information with our local representatives when necessary.
  • Community engagement: The GBA, in addition to promoting a positive business environment, exists to give back to the community in a positive way. We will continue to support educational and character building actives as well as initiatives that build community in Granger. We welcome suggestions and will lend support to worthwhile projects that meet this goal.

Finally, I would like issue a challenge – that is for you to get involved. You are the most important ingredient in everything the GBA does! This has been true throughout the existence of the GBA and continues to this day. Whether it’s attending a business networking event, taking part in a golf tournament, volunteering your time on a committee or spearheading a project, your participation means the difference between an organization that exists in name only and one that has a real impact on our community.

Respectfully,
Maxwell Black
GBA President
