Ask Sue - This Year, Be True to Your Core

Sue Hays, CBC

We all know that business needs innovation and change in order to grow, and that applies to you and I as businesses.  I’ve got my core business knowledge, and some of that knowledge doesn’t change much from year to year.  The important change to the business that is me is the innovation and change I need to accomplish this year to become a better business.
  • More valuable to the organizations I work with.
  • More valuable to my household, which is another business I’m involved in.
  • More valuable as myself, the core business.
No business can risk becoming outdated – the competition tramples outdated businesses. We cannot put ourselves on a shelf and sacrifice the business that is us for the good of the organization.

The question becomes not so much a question of “when,” but a question first of “what.”
  • What do I need to know in 2017 in order to strengthen myself and my professional value?
  • What am I Interested in knowing or learning to position my career for the future?
  • What will bring me the most bank for the buck?
You can make 2017 a banner year for you. You have to make the first move, though. No one can see what you see for yourself and your future except you.

By the way, if you want to explore your thoughts with an impartial third party, contact me. I look forward to it!
