Treat yourself to this unique production in Portland's Historic Downtown District.
Downtown takes on a life of it's own Friday nights from 7-9pm as 3 blocks of commercial buildings have lights dancing to music with a 25 minute revolving production. Shows change weekly.
Actually, every evening is impressive simply for the extent of the lights themselves. Stop by for dinner and a little shopping, take in the lighted sparkle that adds warmth and charm to winter in MI.
Location
Setting: In-Person Historic Downtown Portland 100-200 Kent Street Portland, MI 48875 UNITED STATES
This is a story of community, vision, and dedication. 20,000 plus Edison bulbs were added to 14,000 feet of cabling and 17 computers to wrap 32 buildings encompassing the majority of the historic district. This project was spearheaded by Timothy Fuller, President of Opera Block Properties
This endeavor is just a fragment of the broader vision to revive Portland. While the focus of this project encompasses the festive spirit and the downtown's allure, the larger mission extends beyond. Currently Fuller is restoring six buildings within the downtown district
Tina ConnerWellman, Executive Director for MI Portland Downtown Development stated, “We cannot express enough gratitude to the business and property owners who have poured their hearts and resources into our small town. Their vision, dedication and unwavering commitment have transformed our cherished city, likely sparked economic growth, and certainly added to our sense of community pride.”
