Colors Colors Everywhere - More Changes in 2011 On There Way!

This feature to allow TCS color changes is now ready for you and the members to use. To change the color, go to your TCS Admin page and click on "Company Logo Uploaded/Color Selected" and select "Custom" as your "TCS Color/Style". A new box and color picker tool will appear. You can either paste your hex color code into the box or select your color with the color picker.

Deleting Categories Improved

Maury who is the Director for the Regional Chamber Alliance suggested we connect the member links to the category manager.  This was to remove extra steps in removing a category and re-assigning members to a new one.

Thanks for your input Maury... this change is now live.

Leads Passed to Member System Update

When you send leads to your members this is how the form looks on their end.  Now members can respond immediately to the requesting party right from the email.  When they click on "click here to open the lead" a form opens so they can respond immediately versus openning their email and sending that way.  Many leads are being passed today so we're working to make that even more efficient for your members.

Social Media Marketing – Hyping the Hype?

Sachin Bansal

 2010 December, 27th

Sachin Bansal
Anyone would think, reading the huge amounts of materials created praising social media marketing, that sales were going through the roof and marketers were all driving custom Ferraris. That’s not quite the case. Talk so far hasn’t just been cheap, it’s been at a discount. If you’re marketing for removalists, you’d have to laugh at the idea that social media was your natural first choice for a market.

Assessing the hype

The theory, so far, is based on market research finding out things about social behavior which have never before discovered. That’s nice, but practical results are conspicuously lacking. What needs to be asked is why the hype, when so far there’s no proof that social media is delivering much more than gas?

If you’re in the industry, your skepticism starts the minute anyone on a large salary starts talking about a product or mode of marketing which is suddenly the Next Big Thing. Historically, a lot of effort has been put into Next Big Things which turn into Next Big Nothings.

Meeting Suggestions Now Completed by Engineering

Richard Scully

  • Jim from the Duarte Chamber reported this issue: When the system admin clicks on the TCS link for member database list then they CLICK ON "Edit Traffic Catcher Site Info/Text" the URLS associated with the service bullets are not there for them to edit. This is built and shows on member side in TCS center, but not for admin.  This engineering ticket is in as Request ID: 12378
  • Maury who is the Director for the Regional Chamber Alliance suggested we connect the member links to the category manager. This was to remove extra steps in removing a category and re-assigning members to a new one.  Thanks for your input Maury... this change is now live.
  • Erin from the Corvallis Benton Chamber coalition had this feature added. Drop-Off-Credit-Feature works when activated so when dropping members, the system will credit-off unpaid invoices.
  • Mary Stanko of the Oroville Chamber suggested we add a scrolling widget for PRESS RELEASES. Here is the code for that new widget - simply change the ORG CODE to yours when adding to your website. We'll help you if you would like: <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascript">
    var org_id = 'ORCC'
    var height = 250
    var width = 250
    var font_size = 8
    var font_face = 'arial'
    </script>
    <script src=" http://www.chamberorganizer.com/
    news_scroller/pr_scroller.php"></script >
  • Susan Brynar from the Chester Lake Almanor Chamber suggested this and now its been added to the system: If the member activates the Wi-Fi option in the TCS setup, then the terms Wi-Fi and WiFi are added to their keywords. If the Wi-Fi option is unchecked, then those terms are removed from the keywords. Now people using the Chamber Search Engine will easily find WIFI hotspots via the search boxes.
  • Lisa Bailey from Irwindale CC in California made this suggestion—I think it would be a GREAT enhancement to have a log of the past posts (helps to avoid unintentional duplicates) like you have for the broadcast emails. Also not sure if you can add a link generator, but that would be awesome to help drive traffic to our websites which is the main objective of using social media.
  • Steve Voltz from the Balsam Lake Chamber suggested we ad an ability for members who use the "Member Calendar Network" to have the option of publishing this calendar with "ONLY" their events in their own websites and social networks. This is now done: To use this, sign in to the MMS and go to your TCS page. Then find the option to "Post Events". Underneath the description are the words "Link to your events". You can click on the link or copy-and-paste the URL into an email, etc. I've tested it and appears to work well.
  • It was requested that we add video training for each module. This has been done so members will now see a video icon within the members area and within the TCS center. (Done - Thank You Great Idea!)
