Online Learning Module Early Overview

The Online Learning Module gives you the ability to offer educational courses to your membership that can be completed at the member’s convenience. A course can consist material created by you in the form of:

  • Videos
  • Informational web pages (slides)
  • Tests

As members complete their work, they will know immediately how well they have performed on the tests.

Courses can be created by using the Online Learning option in the admin panel under Member Area Functions.

Steps to Creating a Course

Inside the Online Learning Admin:

Click the link to Add a new course
Give your course a name and description. This information will appear for the member as they are selecting the course the courses they are interested. (note: leave the check box, Publish Course, unchecked until you are ready for members to begin taking your course)

Add course elements:

Videos: we currently support AVI, MP4, MPG, and WMV video file formats

Slides: these are web pages that you embed in the course that provide content for your coursework. This content can be in the form of text and images.

Tests: multiple choice questions. Members will know almost immediately which questions were answered correctly and which questions were not. You have the option of providing information for incorrect answers that help explain why that answer is incorrect.

Place your course elements in the correct order. The admin gives you the ability to reorder your course elements.

Once you have completed setting up your course, return to the Online Learning Course Admin and find your new course under Pending and click on the ‘edit’ icon. Then, check the Publish Course check box and click on Continue.

Building Membership through Economic Development Planning

A brand new mini seminar for executives, membership development staff and their board members will be held monthly following the monthly executive meeting at 11:30am PST.  Since this is the first mini-seminar on this subject so we've decided to offer this as our subject matter at this months meeting (11:00am PST) - we hope you will join us.

A great deal of thought and work has gone into this plan so we are confident many of you will get a great deal out of it. As always you can leave at any time.  We expect this mini-seminar to take 30 minutes plus questions.

Many Chambers of Commerce we have spoken with are looking for ways to build their community reputation and memberships. Richard Scully the founder of Chamber Nation has been working on a brand new strategy to do this he would like to share with you. The opportunity to re-postion your membership development strategy is NOW and shouldn't be missed.
