Building Membership through Economic Development Planning

A brand new mini seminar for executives, membership development staff and their board members will be held monthly following the monthly executive meeting at 11:30am PST.  Since this is the first mini-seminar on this subject so we've decided to offer this as our subject matter at this months meeting (11:00am PST) - we hope you will join us.

A great deal of thought and work has gone into this plan so we are confident many of you will get a great deal out of it. As always you can leave at any time.  We expect this mini-seminar to take 30 minutes plus questions.

What are those new RED INDICATORS in Email Lists?

When you send out broadcast messages, newsletters and other from inside of your system you see log lists of reciepients just before you click the "Send" link. You may have noticed that a few might be highlighted in "RED" so here is the explaniation from Christopher Howie in engineering.

The red font along with the message is indicating that it is a bad email address and intended to help you, and the admin, troubleshoot the problem on your own by giving you more information.

But, I can also understand how something like a space could be easily overlooked or not really seem like a problem.  But, unfortunately, in the case of email addresses, they are a problem.

When you see a problem like this in the future (red highlighting), you will want to investigate the problem by reviewing the member's record and see if anything looks out of the ordinary (like an extra space, misspelled domains, missing parts of a valid email address, etc).

(In many cases these will not be in your bounced email list since it might be a new issue and has not bounced yet.)

Getting Ready for Touchscreen Computers (Windows 8)

Many of you may know that most computers you will purchase after November of this year will offer "Touch Screens" to make use of the latest Windows 8 technology. For this reason we are all ready working on new modules to make great use of this touch world. Apple is also moving to touch so these updates have positive impact for those users as well.

From our latest work on CatalogPAL, to an all new membership directory, we have some rather beautiful displays in the works for our customers, members and the public looking things in your community.

In order for members to participate in these new touch screen directories they have a new module in their TCS center. It is called  

Today we are announcing our brand new DIRECTORY GRID system which is powered by optimized member information. Here is a sample for the category "Lodging" out of the Eastern Plumas Chamber of Commerce:

Member Stats Now Instant from their TCS Center

We had a request recently to provide members with instant access to their website stats beyond the normal monhtly reporting. This service is now active for all members and is located within the "Networking" area of their TCS center. From this tool they can view total counts, current counts and even historical counts for up to 12 months. Additionally, they can click "Send Report" and their latest monthly stats report will be emailed to them.

This report may be customized by you to show your members the latest marketing services provided to bump member exposures.
