No January Meeting

Please Note:  Due to the New Year Holiday, there will not be an Executive Administrator Training meeting in January 2014.  The meetings will resume again on Wednesday, February 5th.

Educational Tip of the Month

295_01022014120118.jpgThere was a great request this month asking if there was a way to generate a Form Letter to be able to send to individual members.  This can be used for any communication that you might want to have a template for with your members.  Because this is such a useful tool, I immediately made an on-demand training video about how to do this and wanted to highlight it as the Educational Tip of the Month.

You may access this on-demand training instantly by clicking on the following link:

Education - Now Available

The "On Demand" Videos continue to grow!  I now have a new structure I am implementing to be able to produce these even quicker and easier for your benefit.  So keep on the lookout for more and more being added.
246_11262013124602.jpg
The Newest "On Demand" Videos are:
  • Session #14 (Intermediate) - Creating and Overnight Event Registration (non-traditional times).  Do you have events that occur during non-traditional times?  For example a New Year's Eve event which starts in the evening and ends during the next morning.  The standard event registration doesn't allow for non-traditional times to be entered, but that does not prevent you from entering your event with all of the pertinent, and correct information.  This training will show you how quick and easy it is to create an overnight event that has non-traditional times.
Welcome to a New Year!!!  The On Demand videos will continue to grow as a high-priority at Chamber Nation.  If there is a specific module you really would like to see up there sooner than later, please email your suggestion to Dr. Ryan Nielsen at ryan@chambernation.com.

Avoiding Spam Filters

248_11262013125902.jpg
Although we are working constantly to improve deliverability of emails, many problems with spam filtering are related to the content or formatting of the emails themselves.

Here are some tips to avoid having your emails get mis-identified as spam.
  • Avoid all caps in the subject
  • Avoid excessive exclamation points (Sale!!!)
  • Avoid certain keywords in the body, but especially in the subject
    • Sale
    • Free
    • Attention
    • Any typical sales verbiage - buy direct, cheap, act now
    • Any common pharmaceutical trade name
    • Any adult-only type product
  • Avoid referring to the attachment in the subject line (this is done in viruses)
  • Avoid using brackets and parenthesis in the subject line
  • Limit the number of links within the body, less than 5 if possible
  • Avoid using large images in emails - the proportion of images to text in terms of area, if too high, will trip some spam filters
  • Avoid lots of red coloring on fonts
