Lets Rank the Next Engineering Updates

Here are some of the items scheduled for build in early 2010:

  • 1. QuickBooks Integration with Quick Books Online edition.
  • 2. The TCS Center would have another option for members to "Add Your Business Events" that would then flow to the calendar admin for approval. Once approved then it would appear on a separate Member Events calendar. A separate "Scorlling Member Events" module would be created for a new website page.
  • 11. ADD GENERAL MULTI-POST box to use that offers scheduling for later posting - they may write over a weekend but want it to post at 10am Monday morning for instance.  They want to be able to schedule time and date for all multi-posts... or send NOW.
  • 12. A way to see how many times a file in the media and file center has been accessed (or downloaded one in the same).
  • 13. Category specific banners in banner ad manager... i.e., each time someone goes to "Realestate" then the banners associated with that specific category would appear.
  • 14. Track number of email newsletters shown... for instance when you go to the admins newsletter editor they could see if the newsletter went to 566 or 123.
  • 3. The limit of 25 search terms are causing a stir and needs a lot more room... I explained the potential problem to the execs and the suggestion is that the ADMIN LEVEL USER could add more, but member can not.
  • 4. On the TCS page where it shows number exposures is fine, but it needs to show a "Since Date" which would be their join date or system launch date if no join date available.
  • 5. Google map shows a blank box on right side for members and wifi locations.... please eliminate this box on right until they choose a category from the top when the box is needed.
  • 6. Allow admins to "Hide Event Registration Link from Public List" but still provide link they can email to PRIVATE by INVITE only guests. They have many private events by invitation only they don't want the public to see on the even registration page of website.
  • 7. Public submits calendar item for approval... needs a way to collect the persons contact information who is submitting the event through the public website. Then they need a report in the calendar area called "Community Calendar Contributors".
  • 8. Rebuild the SIR report to include most from the INF page too! This has been asked for by many people.
  • 9. The FCK Editor versions used in many locations within the MMS are not up-to-date and don't all work the same... using the custom HTML box like for custom backgrounds does not work. They suggested updating all of the FCK editors to latest versions.
  • Kevin mentioned in Los Alamos that the custom report writer "HTML" output is not finished?
  • 10. Executives loved the new national membership trends report and have asked for a national member dues report. so they can benchmark their dues against many others.
  • 10. "National Trending" reports s/b available from within the MMS admin level users only.
  • ?? Allow members to use their own newsletter creator that would then turn on a link on their TCS page then they could use this link in emails or MPOST to broadcast link and comment to their followers so they could read the latest newsletter.

Special Guest on Wednesday

Mark LeBlanc and Sam Azzam will be sharing changes in the member business development program which will be coming in early 2010.  This is an opportunity to hear their suggested updates to the program and then offer you a chance to weigh in with your opinion on how you think it should work.

There is also a new publication to be unveiled for your members and much more to discuss with Mark and Sam.

We've allocated up to 15 minutes for this discussion.

ChamberBusinessPlan.Com now expanded with MemberBusinessPlan.Com

We've had positive comments about the website www.ChamberBusinessPlan.com so we created the same concept for your members.  In both cases it shows the reader how to get the most out of their systems.  Please take a look at www.MemberBusinessPlan.com and if you think this would be of value to your members please send them this website link.

iPhone App for Quick Books Online

When you move over to QuickBooks online you will also have mobile access to your full accounting overview.  Since both systems will be always up-to-date this will be real time accurate information.

Mobile Phone Website Now Linked to TCS Pages

We now have links from the TCS pages to the members .MOBI websites... this will help in the rankings and let the members see how their mobile site updates as they change information on their TCS site.

Member Calendar Network

Thanks to David Moss from the Surprise Regional Chamber:

Members are able to submit events online through the members area, but soon through the TCS center as well.

By defaulting the calendar to include the Member Calendar Network you will now be able to easily broadcast your member only events through a seperate calendar and scrolling module.

You can read all about this update at: www.MemberCalendarNetwork.com

Weekly Digest - Turned OFF!

The weekly social network digest is a valuable tool to bring your members into quality discussions, but without usage the digest works against you.  Several asked us to activate, but without activity it was creating confusion for members and had several calls relating to the Digest.

We will go over this feature during the training and show a successful digest and then activate for the Chambers who understand how it fits into the social networking puzzle.

The 12 Commitments & a Gift for You!

Mark LeBlanc

During the holidays it seems that everyone has 12 of something. So I thought I would take a moment to reflect on my year and think about the issues and challenges that many in business face on a daily basis. Here are my 12 commitments for the coming year and just maybe you will find one or two of them you will commit to.

I will commit to my personal best.
I will commit to a higher degree of focus.
I will commit to a higher power.
I will commit to telling the truth.
I will commit to listening.
I will commit to responsiveness.
I will commit to consistency.
I will commit to myself.
I will commit to surrender.
I will commit to my health.
I will commit to serenity.
I will commit to my family and friends.

Success is short-lived. In fact, success is not determined by your results. Contrary to popular opinion, the sense of accomplishment or celebration of reaching a goal fades pretty quickly. It seldom motivates you to pursue your next goal.
