System Change Log


Here are the Chamber Nation system updates for the past 30 days (November):
  1. Renewing Member Email!  There is now an email sent to the Chamber any time a member renews their membership online.  Previously, these emails were sent only when a new member joined, but now the notification is sent whenever a member renews as well.
     
  2. Manual Drip Marketing Starter.  This is a very exciting new feature.  You can add any member (new, renewing, etc.) to any of your drip marketing plans with our new Manual Drip Marketing Starter.  Please see the article below (Educational Tip of the Month) for instructions how to do this.
     
  3. Admins to the system can now overried the Default Options for both the TCS Pages and the DisplayedRight in individual member accounts.  When editing a member profile, you will see the listing of the default option for that membership plan, along with two drop down menus allowing you to override the default and set either, or both, of these options to "active" or "disabled."  This can allow for added leverage for the chamber to entice members to join.  Even if the default is not active for their plan level, you can offer them this special incentive.  Or sell those options as "membership add-ons."  More great way to generate revenue for the chamber - Revenue which costs the chamber nothing.
     
  4. There is a NEW Calendar Available now that includes Buttons at the top that will take you to the month of your choosing.  All buttons will look to the future, but if you need to go to a date in the past, you can still navigate to it through the arrow buttons inside the calendar itself.  This new calendar can be found by going to your MMS Configuration --> System Links --> Link 4.6b

Red Door Plan Calculations - Convert Regular Members to Premium Membership Plans

 
Suggested Plans for Annual Red Door Program

Say that your current plans are $100, $200, and $300 dollars per year. We will call those plans “current plans” or “Blue Door Plans”

The Red Door program is the premium plan or the plan with the additional benefits. It will also cost you more when a member joins these plans or switches from a current plan to a Red Door plan. For this example let’s say that your agreement calls for a 39.95 set up fee and a 3.95 monthly charge. This monthly fee would equal a charge of 47.40 per year.

First thing to do is to set up the Red Door plans to reflect this additional cost plus any markup you would like to add.

For this example let’s say your current $100 plan will have a set-up fee of 49.95 and an additional $100 per year. So this Red Door plan will be $200 per year. With these numbers you will make an additional $10 on the set up and an additional $52.60 each year. No problems when you have a new member sign up. They pay the set up and they are put into the Red Door plan at $200 per year.

But what about someone who is already a member and they want to switch to a Red Door plan?

Go ahead and move them to the Red Door plan. Their next invoice will be calculated based on the new plan that they are now in.

Now what if they are in the middle of their current annual term?

Take the difference in the annual plan amounts between the old plan and the new plan and divide by 12. Let’s say its $100 difference. That would be 8.33 per month. Take the number of months still remaining on their term and multiply by the monthly amount. In our example let’s say they have 6 months remaining. Take 8.33 times 6 for a balance due of 49.98.

Create a Non-dues invoice for 49.98 plus the 49.95 one time set up and bill the member. This action will take care of everything you need to do because their next invoice will be for the correct amount.

A Chamber of Commerce Member Only Option - a RED DOOR Program Option

the RED DOOR Program Revenue Model:

Ideally suited for home-based and small business owners who need assistance in setting up an online business development support system that may be easily expanded over time. This is a valuable add-on to traditional membership plans. These plans are often referred to as a Premium Membership Plan and are designed to improve the value proposition for new member recruiting and retention.

Although the Chamber Nation program provides excellent services to all of your members at NO EXTRA COST, the premium membership plan is a greatly expanded program offered at a wholesale rate to the Chamber. The Chamber simply creates plan(s) that include this premium membership level. The Chamber not only recaptures all of the wholesale costs, but will immediately see it as a revenue generator for the Chamber.

When a member joins the Chamber through the RED DOOR they will see a list of enhanced member services in addition to the traditional membership. The one-time admin fee could be set by the Chamber at $49.95. This is automatically collected by the Chamber through its plan registration system.  The one-time charge from Chamber Nation is only $39.95 making an income of $10 by the Chamber.

The ongoing monthly hosting and advanced support fee for new members who have chosen to join through the RED DOOR, will be $3.95 per month. For the services delivered you could easily double that rate by simply adding it to the annual plan amount, or convert it into a simple monthly membership plan.
Keep in mind that this program has nothing to do with your existing member plans, but is designed to enhance your ability to attract new members. You can always offer it as an optional upgrade to all current members, especially when you consider the revenue potential.

We have some ideas for you to consider:
  1. You always choose which plans will offer this upgraded service so you are always in control.
  2. You can offer monthly membership plans, but we know many of you do not want to offer this in most cases.
  3. You can set up monthly membership plans for home-based businesses for instance. Why? Because now they can easily afford membership in the Chamber that includes many additional services they can use to grow their business.
  4. You now have the ability to double the number of plans you offer (not that you have to), and repackage them as a new premium membership level.  
Ideas on earning more money per plan:
  • Let’s say you currently offer a small business plan for $100 per year. That would generate $100 in revenue.
  • Let’s say you offer that same plan for $49.95 one-time admin fee, and then only $19.95 per month.
  • After your payment of $3.95 per month to Chamber Nation the net back to the Chamber is $16 per month. Over the year you would earn $192 plus the $10 profit on the initial setup.
  • This plan offers a 100% increase in revenue.
  • You could easily do the math on annual plans as well and create a new revenue stream right away.
  • Another example of terrific leverage is to use the integrated banner advertising system. Package the Premium Membership Plan with a banner location within the automated banner advertising system and you have just added even more value at NO ADDED cost to the Chamber.
