System Change Log
Here are the Chamber Nation system updates for the past 30 days (May)
- I added a new feature just yesterday to custom reports that will allow you to pull reports on Xref'd members in several ways. This feature is the first select box on the query setup page of custom reports.
- The first option in that feature allows you to pull a list of primary members and include all those members Xref'd to them who also meet all the other criteria in your query.
- The second option allows you to return only the Xref'd members who meet the other criteria set up in the query.
- The third option, I just now added for you because it seemed like a logical addition, allows you to add the criteria that only those who have someone Xref'd to them will be returned. This new criteria causes the query to take a long time to run, however.
- Chamberwebmaster.com (presenting that new site and what it does for the admins)
- Broadcast Text Messaging is now available. Details are as follows:
- The broadcast text message module allows an association to send out text messages to a group of members.
- This is a premium service, and costs $.02 cents per member-message (if you were to send a message to 100 members, the message would cost $.50).
- A minimum monthly charge of $10 applies. (if you use less than 500 individual texts in a given month, you would still have to pay $10 in that month).
- To turn on this feature, please contact tech support - we will turn on the module for you.
- It will be necessary to turn on a special mobile-phone field within the member database, such that you would load your members mobile #'s into that field. This is the field that is used to determine the phone numbers to use when sending out broadcasts.
- When the module is enabled, to send a message, click on 'send new message'. You'll be prompted to enter a subject and message (note: the subject is not sent, this is just used as a way to track which message was which).
- In the next screen, you'll be prompted to select recipients. Only member records with something entered in the mobile phone field will be available to you. Once you've made your selection, verified your message, you then can send it.
- After the message, there is a 'status page' available for that message. It will show the progress of the message (which ones have been sent, or which ones had difficulty). Also, If the recipients choose to reply to your text, their replies will show up on the status page.
- Two new features in the CRM Area
- a.Mass add to all members
- There is now a link on the main CRM Menu to "Record Contacts for " under the heading "Organization-wide Contacts". It allows the admin to select which Member Types were contacted (Full Members, Prospects, and List-Only), and most of the other fields for adding a contact for an individual. (I removed the Alt. Person field, since it doesn't make sense for a mass add.) Filling these in and clicking "Submit" will create a Contact record for everyone in the selected member type.
- b.Mass choose staff members to send change notifications i.There is now a checkbox on the add/change contact page to notify admins of the contact. If checked, they will be able to select which admins the notification goes out to. If unchecked, it just records the contact and acts like it did before.
- ii. Staff Member A records a contact with Company ABC, perhaps recording a tasting fee increase in the details.
- "Broadcast to all staff" check box is selected.
- An email is sent to all staff members informing them of this update.
- When a member requests a TCS page setup, the chamber admin is sent an email showing that the setup request has been sent in. Also, when the member is sent their TCS completion notification, the chamber admin is also CCed on this.
- The completion letter for the TCS optimization has been cleaned up and made crisper and clearer for the members
- In the Member’s Social Network, the word “lead” has been changed to “referral.”
- In the CRM you can now toggle your reporting of events based on date, member name, or contact type.
Tip of the Month: Allowing Members to Upgrade Membership
One of the things that is very important to remember when using the Chamber Nation system is that it was built from the ground up to ALSO be a Membership Development platform. This means that it is designed to deliver more prospects and information to members so that they can easily see how their membership is more relevant to their business.
Important system reminders that will help you deliver a better understanding of Chamber Relevance to your members:
- Let the members know that you are the Official Area Network,
- Tell them that your Chamber is responsible for making sure that members are setup properly on the Area Search Engine,
- Show them that as a member they qualify for FREE Member Onboarding so they need to request that service from the Chamber,
- That the Chamber will be sending them a Statistical Information Report each month on the 1st to show how their Chamber Membership resulted in added promotion for their business over the previous month.
Chamber Relevance
Let's Put Our Cities On the Map
Dear Chamber Nation Customers,
Last week we received a number of emails asking us about this new Google program called "Let's Put Our Cities on the Map" - we think it's great!
Over the years we have supported Google Places and answered member questions regarding this tool. As part of our PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP PLAN, we will be continuing our support. To simplify, and help you get a jump on the process, we have prepared an easy to follow document on how members are able to add their business to the Google Places program that you can VIEW HERE.

Should We Expand This Concept?
