PLUMAS-EUREKA STATE PARK ASSOCIATION's ANNUAL DINNER IN THE PARK WILL BE HELD AT THE PARK THIS YEAR ON AUGUST 17, BEGINNING AT 4:00.

This year's fundraiser will include a catered tri-tip dinner under the trees featuring special guest, Steve Hale, assuming the personality of Capt. George Whittell, Jr., the eccentric millionaire playboy who built the Thunderbird Lodge on the shores of Lake Tahoe and whose purchase of Nevada's portion of the Lake Tahoe basin in the 1930s, including the entire waterfront from Crystal Bay to Stateline, has been credited with inadvertently preserving the Lake's eastern shore.
