I hope this message finds you well! I'm not sure if you remember me, but this is Daniel Gardner. My family used to live in Loyalton, and I had the pleasure of working at the Sierra Booster in the 90s. It was one of my first jobs, and I treasure the time I spent there and the opportunity to know your family. I've attached a photo of myself with your dad that was taken during that time. Wonderful memories!
During the years we lived in Loyalton, I acquired a 1969 Camaro, and my dad and I spent 10 years restoring it together. Working at the newspaper played a big part in funding the project, and I often think back on those days fondly. In 2011, I made the difficult decision to sell the car to help support my young family, but through a recent and incredible turn of events, I've found the car again!
I'll paste below a recent Facebook post I shared that tells more of the story, but I was reaching out to see if it might be possible to feature an article about it in the Sierra Booster. Since the majority of this story happened in Loyalton and working at the newspaper was part of the journey. It feels like a full-circle moment to share it here.

Ok Boys, the count is in and your (expletive deleted) person won, and my person lost. It is what it is.... And unlike your person whined "They Cheated" for 4+ years, my person won't attempt to overthrow our Nation's Government!. See, even the Calpine Communist can (more or less) lose graciously - unlike how Youz Guyz did.
Now, Both our Peoples of Our Great Nation (elephant and donkey) will just have to wait and see if any of those promises your person made, will come to fruition. I just can't wait for $2 gas, and if his promise that women won't be afraid cause he won't sign Federal abortion ban. He said he's gonna lower the millionaire's (hello Elon) taxes and lower the corporate taxes (hello Again Elon), but what's he gonna do for farmers and Small business owners, and us Senior Citizens? Oh Yeah, he's not gonna charge us tax on tips (Hey Old Boyz, any of you work for tips?). Oh yeah, tell me how much tax you pay on Social Security. Getting that back probably won't change your life. And it's doubtful that you Only Ever (!!!) buy American Built stuff. You'll be paying 20-25% more on All your parts, cause it's doubtful that those rich and getting richer Corporations will absorb that difference. Who of you even care about gay or transgender rights, right? Hey, you have any Mexican, Canadian, Muslim or Asian folk that work for you, or for a friend? Good luck paying an $18 minimum wage to some white American.
OMG, the Booster doesn't have the number of pages that it'd take me to get into Education, Medicare Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, the Climate, Workers Rights (ever been a Union Man?). What about our National Defense?
Needless to say, although no mob will be sent to overthrow an official ceremony, and I bow and say "It Is What It Is...", we Lefty, Socialist, Commie Democrats will be sure to let you know how "well" your leader's promises are helping the Righteous folk like yourselves.
