Dear Sierra Valley Community,
We are truly grateful for the blessings of the Sierra Valley community over the past 27 years. When we first pulled into this beautiful valley, we had no idea it would become our cherished home. Initially drawn here to purchase cows, we fell in love with the unparalleled beauty and tranquility that surrounded us.
We bought the old Torri Ranch and built our home on the eastern hill, where we were treated to the most breathtaking sunsets we had ever witnessed. As we sent our two oldest daughters off to college and continued to homeschool our younger two, we discovered the joys of raising a family in such a nurturing environment. Now we are thrilled to watch our grandchildren explore and enjoy everything this community has to offer.
Our time at the Community Church of Loyalton has enriched our lives, allowing us to forge cherished friendships that will last a lifetime. Interactions with local teachers and students have woven us more deeply into the fabric of this community, providing us with lasting connections and memories.
Living here has taught us the importance of slowing down and savoring life, a choice we embraced by choosing a ranching and farming lifestyle. We are deeply grateful to our neighbors who generously shared their wisdom and support, enabling us to navigate the challenges of ranching. We apologize if we've overlooked anyone in our gratitude; please know that each of you holds a special place in our hearts.
The Wallace Ranch has indeed been a dream come true for us. As we prepare to retire and move away, we carry with us the invaluable memories and connections we've created here. Though our new home may now be just outside of Fallon, NV, our hearts will remain forever tied to Sierra Valley and its wonderful residents. We look forward to returning often, as family and friends will always beckon us back.
Thank you for embracing us as part of your family and community from day one. God has guided us to this new chapter, and we're excited about what lies ahead, even as we hold our time in Sierra Valley close to our hearts.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Don & Bonita Wallace

PART III
“Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.” From the Holocaust Encyclopedia, sponsored by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum: 'After World War II, Niemoeller openly spoke about his own early complicity in Nazism and his eventual change of heart. His powerful words about guilt and responsibility still resonate today.'
Lutheran Pastor, Martin Niemoeller, spent the last eight years of Nazi rule, from 1937 to 1945, in prisons and concentration camps. Following the war, he spread his message far and wide.
